Rangoli Radio is a Leeds based community Radio Service broadcasting on DAB in the Leeds area (DAB Coverage can be found here. Each local radio station in the UK has requirements in respect of its music and local content, such as news, speech levels etc.


Ofcom, the Office of Communications, is the independent regulator and competition authority for the UK communications industries, with responsibilities across television, radio, telecommunications and wireless communications services. Ragnoli Radio was awarded a broadcast licence in 2020 and the details of our application can be found here.


Rangoli Radio is run by volunteers and is available 24 hours a day and serves the Hindu community. We aim to entertain, inspire and educate the Hindu community. Each presenter is required to complete a 6 week training programme before they broadcast any shows. The shows are a mix of live presenter shows, pre-recorded shows and automated music streams. Our broadcast schedule can be found here.  Rangoli Radio does not have fixed news bulletins and has an arrangement with BBC Radio Leeds to re-broadcast their bulletins during live shows. We also include news about local events as our presenters are made aware.
